Hapag-Lloyd begins transshipment operations at TCTenerife

TCTenerife continues to consolidate in the port sector, with transshipment traffic. On this occasion, Hapag-Lloyd, one of the leading shipping companies in international container traffic, has begun operating at the New Terminal of the East Dike, TCTenerife.  This new transshipment operation involves several vessels that will allow more than 6,000 containers to be stowed.

It thus begins to operate at the facilities of TCTenerife, the second shipowner of the known as Geminis Alliance, which together with Maersk, which already calls at our Terminal, also carries out transshipment operations. This Alliance has a fleet made up of 292 vessels, with a capacity for 3.4 million TEUS.

The operation, which began on February 19 with the Mexico Express ship flying the flag of the Marshall Islands, ended on Friday, the 21st of that month. The vessel is 271 meters long and 15 meters deep.

TCTenerife  needed to coordinate  operations for about 2,600 containers with 18 dockers teams, made up of  ten to twelve stevedores each.

Subsequently, these containers will be loaded onto the Yantian Express Vessel, a 320-meter-long ship that is scheduled to arrive on Sunday, February 23, and in addition to loading containers from the México Express ship, it will unload another 2,200 containers at TCTenerife.

A third vessel will complete the operation in the following days, transporting part of the cargo unloaded at the port.

TCTenerife remains consistent, betting on constant service improvement.
